Foreword for 2nd edition.
The first edition of the book " Radical Humanism" the philosophy of Freedom and Democracy was published in the year 1983 by V. M. Tarkunde. It was published almost more than 42 years ago. It is very difficult to get a copy of it.
I, personally, do not find any book in Indian Humanist literature which has the potentiality to explain basic theoretical as well as practical tenets of Radical Humanism in such a simple & lucid manner. For me, even after having it with me for more than four decades still it is a constant source of my inspiration and guiding me like a North Star. It is my friend, philosopher and guide.
I tried to find copies almost impossible to deliver for our new young participants in our Reunion of humanism in Gujarat. I inquired at the national level and I received a disappointing answer. We, the humanist friends' of Gujarat have decided to publish English and translated Gujarati (By Late Prof Dinesh Shukla) version of this very prestigious book.
We decided to reprint it without changing any textual materials and context of the book. I requested the daughter Manek of late Tarkundejee (Supreme Court Lawyer) to cooperate in publishing this book. N.D. Pancholijee the veteran Radical Humanist has made my work easier as she is known to him. I Express my deep gratitude to both of them.
