It is my great pleasure that with candid co-operation of late Prof. Raojibhai Patel 's son Manu Amin and daughter Indira Chhatper that I am able to take this venture of republishing the book named " Some reflections on Gandhian thoughts" which was originally published by the Centre of social studies Surat in 1982.. But it was with the cooperation of Acting Director of The Centre for Social Studies, Surat, Gagan Bihari Sahu, that my task of publishing this book has become easy. Because Prof. Patels' family has decided to publish their father's book in English, Hindi and Gujarati languages.
Pro Ghanshyam Shah- Ahmedabad, Prof. Jiten Macvan Head of Gujarati- Mehmadabd- Arts college and myself met physically for hours and have many mobile conferences. Our tasks were not so simple as we thought of but semantic in nature and practice too. We have to search intellectuals in theory and practice who can give justice to Prof. Raojibhai's Patel more abstract presentations on Gandhi's philosophical thoughts in particularly in Hindi and Gujarati languages.
Manoj Malik from Chandigadh (Hariyana-Punjab) the head of Humanist Centre, Chandhigadh agreed to translate Prof. Patel's book from English to Hindi. He did it well and that too in a prescribed time limit.
But it was almost the Himalayan task to find out the proper person who can give justice to translate Prof. Raojibhai's work in Gujarati. Our group tried to do their best to find the person of that stature but in vain. We also tried to translate it directly with Goggle translate app but it was more sterile than with human touch.
But ultimately our trio (Shah-Macvan-shroff) decided to share our expertise to give our best to translate more in human sense than academic sense. Now, it is to you people the readers, the ball is in your court.
Once- again I thank the present director of the Centre Prof Gagan Bihari Sahu, former director of the Centre Prof Ghansham Shah, Prof J. Macvan, Manu Amin and Indira Chhatpper, Manoj Malik of Chandigadh, Rakesh Desai of Chandrika Printery Ahmedabad for their joint venture in completing these works.

मुझे बहुत खुशी है कि स्वर्गीय प्रो. रावजीभाई पटेल के पुत्र मनु अमीन और पुत्री इंदिरा छत्रप के स्पष्ट सहयोग से मैं "गांधीवादी विचारों पर कुछ विचार" नामक पुस्तक को पुनः प्रकाशित करने का बीड़ा उठा पा रहा हूँ, जिसे मूल रूप से 1982 में सूरत के सामाजिक अध्ययन केंद्र द्वारा प्रकाशित किया गया था। लेकिन सूरत के सामाजिक अध्ययन केंद्र के कार्यवाहक निदेशक गगन बिहारी साहू के सहयोग से ही इस पुस्तक को प्रकाशित करने का मेरा काम आसान हो गया है। क्योंकि प्रो. पटेल के परिवार ने अपने पिता की पुस्तक को अंग्रेजी, हिंदी और गुजराती भाषाओं में प्रकाशित करने का निर्णय लिया है। प्रो. घनश्याम शाह- अहमदाबाद, प्रो. जितेन मैकवान गुजराती- महमदाबाद- आर्ट्स कॉलेज के प्रमुख और मैं घंटों तक शारीरिक रूप से मिले और कई मोबाइल कॉन्फ्रेंस कीं। हमारे कार्य उतने सरल नहीं थे जितना हमने सोचा था, लेकिन प्रकृति और व्यवहार में भी अर्थपूर्ण थे। हमें सिद्धांत और व्यवहार में ऐसे बुद्धिजीवियों की तलाश करनी है जो गांधी के दार्शनिक विचारों पर प्रो. रावजीभाई पटेल की अधिक सारगर्भित प्रस्तुतियों को न्याय दे सकें, खासकर हिंदी और गुजराती भाषाओं में। चंडीगढ़ (हरियाणा-पंजाब) के मानववादी केंद्र, चंडीगढ़ के प्रमुख मनोज मलिक ने प्रो. पटेल की पुस्तक का अंग्रेजी से हिंदी में अनुवाद करने के लिए सहमति व्यक्त की। उन्होंने इसे अच्छी तरह से किया और वह भी एक निर्धारित समय सीमा में।
लेकिन उचित व्यक्ति को ढूंढना लगभग हिमालयी कार्य था जो प्रो. रावजीभाई के काम को गुजराती में अनुवाद करने के लिए न्याय दे सके। हमारे समूह ने उस कद के व्यक्ति को खोजने की पूरी कोशिश की, लेकिन व्यर्थ। हमने इसे सीधे गूगल ट्रांसलेट ऐप के साथ अनुवाद करने की भी कोशिश की, लेकिन यह मानवीय स्पर्श की तुलना में अधिक बाँझ था।
लेकिन अंततः हमारी तिकड़ी (शाह-मैकवन-श्रॉफ) ने अकादमिक अर्थ से अधिक मानवीय अर्थ में अनुवाद करने के लिए अपनी विशेषज्ञता को साझा करने का फैसला किया। अब, यह आप लोगों के पाठकों के लिए है, गेंद आपके पाले में है।
एक बार फिर मैं केंद्र के वर्तमान निदेशक प्रोफेसर गगन बिहारी साहू, केंद्र के पूर्व निदेशक प्रोफेसर घनश्याम शाह, प्रोफेसर जे. मैकवान, मनु अमीन और इंदिरा छत्रप, चंडीगढ़ के मनोज मलिक, चंद्रिका प्रिंटरी अहमदाबाद के राकेश देसाई को इन कार्यों को पूरा करने में उनके संयुक्त उद्यम के लिए धन्यवाद देता हूं।
